Research

A/B Guerrilla Testing

Doing research for small businesses wasn’t a formal matter. I needed to get as much information as possible in a fast, organized way. One example of this was doing A/B Testing at a local coffee shop to determine the best platform for StarHill’s second website.

A brief under 60-second video glance at the A/B test comparison.

The A/B Testing showed that more users preferred the Squarespace version of the site. This includes both staff members accessing the site and potential customers viewing the site.

Research Creating Healthier Communities

This is one of the few things I could share from my work at Galveston County. It’s a resource map that came in handy when gathering info about diseases in the county.

As an Epidemiology Investigator, at the Health Department, I conducted field research to gather information about the community regarding communicable disease and emergency preparedness. This included mixed methods of research applying qualitative and quantitative techniques.

I collaborated with data experts, subject matter experts, labs, universities, and businesses to help determine levels of disease spread and create procedures and educational materials to slow the spreading. I also collaborated with other Epidemiologists in Texas and Nationwide (CDC) to address larger issues like Hurricanes, Salmonella Outbreaks and H1N1 Pandemic Flu.

Writing

Bringing thought to life.

I studied my first love, writing, extensively in my undergraduate program, and make a point to write something new every day.

Here are a few links to current writing samples.

The *Blu* Cabin

This blog post was the compilation of a lot of efforts to create a space for events at StarHill. I did a special trip to the farm to take photos and work through design questions for staff to get this Cabin open for events. It’s beautiful.

Support Malala

On a more personal note, this blog post is on my coaching site. I wanted to do a call out to my grandmother, who was deprived of an education. She’s an inspiration to me, to make the most of my privileges as an Indian-American.

Coaching and Training

Coaching

A 78-second super beginner training video I sent to a client looking to learn how to sign into Squarespace

Coaching clients to build a business they love takes skill. To formally develop this talent, I trained with New Vibe and became a Certified Professional Coach in 2020.

Being a coach also adds to my training skill set. Over the years, I’ve trained several people on how to make websites who are now web designers themselves!

Highlights:

  • Certified Professional Coach (CPC) with the International Coaching Federation

  • Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance

  • Background in Training businesses and their employees on website access and best practices (see video)

  • Current Project: Coaches of Color Oregon - Developing Diversity and Inclusion training programs
